– Ration was distributed among the poor and deserving people in Bilal Colony, Union Council 13, North Karachi. The event was attended by the Patron-in-Chief Sheikh Muhammad Hussain Baltistani, General Secretary of the Karachi Union of Journalists, Sardar Liaqat Kashmiri, along with senior cameraman Muhammad Amin, a member of the Karachi Press Club, and other journalists.
On this occasion, members of the Karachi Union of Journalists, including Ejaz Ali Haider, Nazir Ahmed, Riaz Ahmed, and Hisham Ejaz, were also present. Sardar Liaqat Kashmiri appreciated the public service efforts of Al-Jannat Educational Welfare Trust, stating that in these times of inflation, helping the poor by distributing ration is no less than an act of worship. He also criticized many so-called political and social leaders who claim to serve the public but limit their efforts to photo sessions aimed at gaining votes or influence in the area.
He added, "We are proud to have a compassionate individual like Ejaz Ali Haider as a member of the Karachi Union of Journalists, who empathizes with the struggles of those around him and actively supports them."
On this occasion, Ejaz Ali Haider, a young social worker and member of the Karachi Union of Journalists, as well as the driving force behind Al-Jannat Educational Welfare Trust, said, "Our team, Alhamdulillah, is doing excellent work. Around 70 to 80 children are studying in schools and madrasas under our initiative. With the support of generous donors, we are also providing ration to nearly 250 poor and deserving families through the platform of Al-Jannat Educational Welfare Trust."
He highlighted the challenges faced by the residents of Bilal Colony, which is one of Karachi’s underdeveloped areas. He stated that the people here are deprived of basic facilities and face issues such as gas, electricity, water shortages, and a critical sewerage problem, causing the streets of Bilal Colony to resemble open drains.He further mentioned that local public representatives have been informed about these issues.
The area councilor, Shehzad Baloch, along with other elected representatives, has assured them that the sewerage lines and other issues will be resolved promptly.
